Amazon Principle Place - Trend BMS installation

Amazon, EC2A

In 2017 Global Retail and logistics company Amazon expanded into the Principal Place development in EC2A 3JX. Located in Shoreditch, the 15-storey office unit was developed by Brookfield and designed by Foster & Partners. The building is part of a major new mixed-use development on the City and Shoreditch border in EC2, London. The large building has 16 floors of office space and a retail/restaurant space covering almost 20,000 square feet. The floor plates are large and there are two roof terraces (on levels 10 and 16).

Working with Michael J Lonsdale and ISG, SCI tendered a successful bid to install the BMS across 9 floors, with a budget of £322,000.

The system SCI built for global logistics company Amazon is based on IQ4NC, IQEco38 and IQ4E controllers manufactured by Trend Control Systems Limited. Connection and integration of specialist devices and sensors are particular to the design and application. The BMS is arranged over 9 floors, with terminal units on each floor to provide controlled temperatures to the office spaces.  Fan coil units (FCU) supplied by Ability and Diffusion were enabled to interface with Trend controllers allowing communication with all BACnet devices.

Work started in April 2018 and finished in 2019
